Vera Neumann

A textile designer known for vibrant floral distinctive scarves. Trained in New York before she set up a textile company ‘Printex’ in 1945 starting from a loft in Manhattan. After the second world war there was a lot of unused parachute silk and this was the start of Vera Neumann scarves. It is believed she was one of the very first designers to sign the scarves a small Vera was initially used this then later changed into ladybird trademark from 1947.
